Day 3: Did You Know About NaBloPoMo?
Did you know that November is NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month)? I didn't. Thanks to Martha at Seaside Simplicity for blogging about it Nov. 1. Fortunately, I'd already posted on the 1st and the 2nd, so I haven't missed a day! It's simple, post once a day for the month of November. You can still sign up here. Then your blog will be listed along with other participants. You can read some new blogs, they can read you. Works out well! If your stumped for post ideas the same link for sign ups has a link for prompts.
I wasn't prepared for a Motley Monday, not very many saved photos, which is the basis of those posts.
I did take this one after a rainy night. Mickey left a toy outside, and when I moved it the dry spot looked like a fox. Or a mermaid showing us her tail. It was a long multi-squeak rabbit.
Halloween here was a huge success. There were more trick-or-treaters than ever before, at least 60. Maybe that's not many to some, but I was surprised. Half were probably teens, which is nice. They're kids too, and really, on a Friday night so many of their peers were probably at parties getting drunk. Besides candy I always get the Halloween pencils at the Dollar Tree. Everyone always like those.
This was clinging to the outside (glad it was the outside!) of the screen. It's a Western Conifer Seed Bug, which is a member of the leaf-footed bug family, as you can see by the flat part of the leg. They are true bugs, and considered nuisance pests as they can affect seed production in conifers by piercing immature conifer cones and sucking out the fluids.
Monday: I try to do a Motley Monday.
Tuesday: Tuesday Treasures (thrifted items)
Wednesday: Can be a Wordless, Nearly Wordless, or a Wordy Wednesday.
Thursday: Thursday Postcard Hunt
Friday: Skywatch Friday (if I find any skies to photograph, and now I'm reminded I forgot to look at other blogger's skies!)
Saturday: Shadow Shot Sunday goes up on Saturday at noon (for those in other countries where Sunday would be their Monday). I host that, I inherited it from a previous host.
Sunday: Sunday Stamps
Thanks for linking me up here. I love your Motley Monday shot, definitely looks like a mermaid to me. I think you will definitely be covered for the month for NaBloPoMo :)
ReplyDelete...thanks for the heads up.
ReplyDeleteI like your rambles...
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the tribe, Lisa. Happy you're joining us for NaBloPoMo this year! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that Martha started posting again and mentioned it! I could never do a novel in 30 days, this I can handle. And the A to Z in April, which is only 26. Weekends off help! Thank you for hosting.
DeleteIt really does help to have a schedule, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteVery much so. I am gardening less, so glad to add in some other things.
DeleteQuite a week between his meds, late-night outings, and that surprise extra hour on Sunday
ReplyDeleteReally! Last night he was able to wait three hours, so I only had to get up twice. 1:30 and 4:30. 4:30 still feels like 5:30, so I stayed up. I'll feel it later.
DeleteNope, the first I've heard of it.
ReplyDeleteHad heard of it long ago and participated in it too! But had forgotten all about it. Thank you for the reminder! Shall check what I can do.
ReplyDeleteHi there! I like your set up for NaBloPoMo. I don’t have anything planned and plan to wing it. I have two small kids so planning the posts is not really in the cards.
ReplyDeleteI mainly write about parenting, every day life, wins and struggles, books, and New Jersey.

I read a few of your recent posts, but as my email is connected to a deleted Wordpress account, I can't comment. Wordpress insists that email has an account and I need to sign into it. Can't. Sorry! I am reading though.
DeleteI enjoyed your ramble! I think the spot looks like a mermaid. Pretty cool that you saw it. And photographed it!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading more of your ramblings!
This is the first year in the last 3 (?) I haven't done NaBloPoMo...and now I'm feeling FOMO!!! But it's great San has such a big group participating this year.
ReplyDeletecool! I like the idea of NaBloPoMo! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI am just trying to catch up on all the new and old blogs on the NabLoPo list.
ReplyDeleteI swear the fox in that image but once you pointed out the mermaid I can see that.
