Day 3: Did You Know About NaBloPoMo?

Did you know that November is NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month)?  I didn't.  Thanks to Martha at Seaside Simplicity for blogging about it Nov. 1.  Fortunately, I'd already posted on the 1st and the 2nd, so I haven't missed a day!  It's simple, post once a day for the month of November.  You can still sign up here.  Then your blog will be listed along with other participants. You can read some new blogs, they can read you.  Works out well!  If your stumped for post ideas the same link for sign ups has a link for prompts.

I wasn't prepared for a Motley Monday, not very many saved photos, which is the basis of those posts.

I did take this one after a rainy night.  Mickey left a toy outside, and when I moved it the dry spot looked like a fox.  Or a mermaid showing us her tail.  It was a long multi-squeak rabbit.

Speaking of Mickey...  as you may remember, he went to the vet last week for his allergies.  He's taking Prednisone (and an antibiotic for the bacterial skin infection), and that makes him hungry and very, very thirsty.  So, he drinks a lot.  And of course then he has to pee a lot.  One morning at 4:00 I thought I had time to visit the bathroom before letting him out, but I was mistaken.  I stay up late to take him out, hoping he'll last until at least 4:00.  Last night I couldn't sleep, wondering if he needed to got out.  Finally at 2:00 I got up and took him out. Yes, "took him" out.  I don't let him out alone that time of night/morning in case he barks or runs into a raccoon.  Of course if there's a raccoon out there he's going to bark no matter what I say.  I got back to sleep for a bit, then up at what my clock read as 5:00.  Half an hour later I noticed my phone was saying 4:30.  I was so tired it I thought the phone was wrong, not my clock!  I'd completely missed that it was Fall Back Day!  I would have sworn it was always later in the month.  What a long day Sunday was!

Halloween here was a huge success.  There were more trick-or-treaters than ever before, at least 60.  Maybe that's not many to some, but I was surprised.  Half were probably teens, which is nice.  They're kids too, and really, on a Friday night so many of their peers were probably at parties getting drunk.  Besides candy I always get the Halloween pencils at the Dollar Tree.  Everyone always like those.

This was clinging to the outside (glad it was the outside!) of the screen.  It's a Western Conifer Seed Bug, which is a member of the leaf-footed bug family, as you can see by the flat part of the leg.  They are true bugs, and considered nuisance pests as they can affect seed production in conifers by piercing immature conifer cones and sucking out the fluids.

Mondays and Wednesdays are the only two days of the week I don't already have post plans.
Monday:  I try to do a Motley Monday.
Tuesday: Tuesday Treasures (thrifted items)
Wednesday:  Can be a Wordless, Nearly Wordless, or a Wordy Wednesday.
Thursday: Thursday Postcard Hunt
Friday: Skywatch Friday (if I find any skies to photograph, and now I'm reminded I forgot to look at other blogger's skies!)
Saturday: Shadow Shot Sunday goes up on Saturday at noon (for those in other countries where Sunday would be their Monday).  I host that, I inherited it from a previous host.
Sunday: Sunday Stamps
So, I think I'll be okay posting all 30 days this month. Even if the posts are a bit rambling like this one!

    1. Really! Last night he was able to wait three hours, so I only had to get up twice. 1:30 and 4:30. 4:30 still feels like 5:30, so I stayed up. I'll feel it later.

  7. Hi there! I like your set up for NaBloPoMo. I don’t have anything planned and plan to wing it. I have two small kids so planning the posts is not really in the cards.
I mainly write about parenting, every day life, wins and struggles, books, and New Jersey.

    1. I read a few of your recent posts, but as my email is connected to a deleted Wordpress account, I can't comment. Wordpress insists that email has an account and I need to sign into it. Can't. Sorry! I am reading though.
