Skywatch Friday - October 9, 2026
A few skies from the past few weeks.
Looking south from my backyard.
The view of the Siskiyou Mountains to the west, from the gas station.
Eastern sky from the park with Roxy Ann Peak.
Have a nice weekend. Our heatwave has broken, so the 90s are gone... again. Hopefully for good.
Mickey's allergies are back and he has to go in for a shot on Monday. Wish him luck. The vet's office sold to a vet we don't care for, but so far I haven't found a new one that seems to be a good fit for him. The current one isn't, but he needs his allergy shot. He turned six yesterday. He got a roasted rib bone and a squeaky duck toy, both wrapped in pink tissue.
Yes, he is a COVID pup. Does that matter? Multiple studies say, "Yes." They were often less socially exposed in their critical early months, so have an increased risk of reactivity. And he is quite reactive.
Really pretty skies. Good luck to Mickey!
ReplyDeleteThe sky in #1 is a beauty, with its layers of different clouds. Happy your heat wave is over. My former manager at work (now retired) has a Covid pup. Sad that young dogs suffered socially along with us humans. but it makes sense. We've been in the 60's and have brushed the 30's at night a couple of times.
ReplyDeleteI ran into similarly random clouds this morning, but in north Texas instead of California. We used to drive through this area on our way from Lone Pine (eastern Sierras) to Coos Bay, Oregon when I was a kid, so this post brought back some memories. Mickey looks pretty well adjusted to me, especially since we're now just getting out of our Alan's terrible 'teens (he's about 16 months old now, and we've had him almost a year). We found a good reactivity-relief program online and have pretty much worked through it with decent results. My daughter, who has rescued countless dogs in her life, says that Alan'll come through it fine, so I'm sure Mickey will be able to handle whatever comes his way. Good luck, though, and thanks for the nice shots.
ReplyDeleteI hope the allergy shot helps Mickey. He's so cute.
