Thursday Postcard Hunt - Travelling: Animals
This week for Thursday Postcard Hunt's Travelling theme is Animals.
It's not just people that can travel by animal, these postcards show not only people, but gold prospecting equipment, wine, water, and milk "traveling" by animal!

Next week finishes up the Travelling theme with Buses and/or Cars.
Travelling was harder (and slower) in the past!
ReplyDeleteAnd a lot more work caring for the animals! Unless you're a mechanic and fix your own cars that is.
DeleteNice postcards! I wanna free them all :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, hopefully the carriage horses, and the entire tradition of the rides, in New York City will be retired soon. I can see the draw, but the environment is just so cruel to them. 71% of city residents are for the ban, but lawmakers aren't.
DeleteI agree - there is far too much traffic for the poor horses. Montreal has banned them, but there are still 5 in Niagara.
DeleteThe Italian wine cart is intriguing, it looks like some festive occasion. The Mexican water carrier could have come from any century in the past and the dogs look happier than milk vendor. A great selection of cards.
ReplyDeleteSled dogs enjoy their job of pulling, but not so sure about the other animals. The wine cart is at least fancied up for the occasion!
ReplyDeleteTo think that once that was the most common way to travel.
ReplyDelete...classic ways to get around.
