The famous Swan Boats in Boston Public Gardens, Boston, MA This garden was the first botanical garden in the U.S. Boston also has the honor of having the first public library. It's not the oldest, but the first publicly funded free one.
Next week we visit Beaches.
The Lily Pond postcard is great. Look at the people around it looking in! And their clothes...
ReplyDeleteI like all those well dressed people gazing at the lily pond. Love the Chinese Garden drawing.
ReplyDeleteThe second postcard is very original, i love it!
ReplyDelete...I have been to the Portland Chinese Garden.
ReplyDeleteSomeone should write a short story about the lily pond... the swan boat in Boston is certainly different to any others I've seen, but a fun way to spend an hour or so viewing flowering trees from the river. The Chinese Garden has an interesting layout, and a card with an inclusive perspective!
ReplyDeleteI visited Boston in March years ago, and saw the Public Garden. Of course, nothing much was blooming as it was still winter. Needless to say, the swan boats weren't running, either. Loved the postcards of the Edinburgh garden and the former Shaw's garden, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series.
ReplyDeleteOooh, pretty.
