Thursday Postcard Hunt- Colors of Spring: Yellow
Yellow is the Color of Spring this week for Thursday Postcard Hunt.
Cottonwood Tree in Spring, Georgia O'Keefe, 1943
Nora in Ireland sent me this yellow Postcrossing postcard.
Yellow Goldenrod is the state flower of Nebraska.
From 1916 comes this yellow postcard. This "Gold Nugget" was one of German-American minister and public speaker, William J. H. Boetcher's moral maxims. These were published in a series Inside Maxims.
Next week our postcard color will be Green.
Nice to see another O'Keeffe work!
ReplyDelete...yellow is so cheery!
ReplyDeleteYour first photo is so lovely!
ReplyDeletePostcards are fascinating. My grandmother and mother sent them often and saved the ones they received. We have postcards going back to the early 1900s.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous yellows!!! I love Georgia O Keeffe card!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I feel about that maxim... though that postcrossing one is definitely true!! And, the poor goldenrod get blamed for so many people's allergies (it is actually ragweed that is the culprit). I think it is nice to see waving in the wind.
ReplyDeleteI have two Little Lemon goldenrods. They stay small. Growing up in CA people had acacia trees, and those caused lots of allergies. Lovely yellow though.
DeleteLove the yellow. Nice postcards.
ReplyDeleteVery bright, these yellow postcards.
ReplyDeleteSo bright and cheerful!
ReplyDeleteYellow is such a happy color!
ReplyDeleteI like the monarch butterfly among the yellow, lovely card.
