Sunday Stamps - March 1, 2026
E stamps this week for Sunday Stamps.
Elephant, African
Upper Volta (now Burkina Faso) c. 1963
Upper Volta (now Burkina Faso) c. 1963
Egret, a Great Egret no less.
Fujeira c 1964-1965 (now Fujairah, part of the UAE)
Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Sheikh and Wildlife Series
Eland
Republic of Burundi 1975
The eland is quite chunky! And, what an interesting pose for the elephant. I like how the egret is shown with its neck in two different 's' shapes, and also elongated.
ReplyDeleteThere are quite a few in that series, Sheikh and Wildlife. I don't have them all, yet!
Delete...names of country sure have changed over the years.
ReplyDeleteEgret and Eland are original choices for E. You must have a lot of stamps of animals!
ReplyDeleteA few less than a week ago. I had all my animal stamps together in an envelope to work on them and Sunday Stamps. My cat hacked up a wet hairball mess, INTO the envelope! How she managed that I don't know. Most were fine, a few I could clean off, but four or five were too far gone. I didn't find the mess right away. Who would look down into an envelope to do that? A cat!
DeleteOooooh! Sorry to read that. At lest you could rescue some stamps.
DeleteGreat animal stamps! Great E choices. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like the shades of brown on the Burundi stamp, I imagine the Eland is difficult to see in the wild until it moves. The Egret has a very bendy neck, I wonder how those muscles operate, I'm off to find out:)
ReplyDeleteGreat collection.
ReplyDeleteYour cat! Maybe he's trying to tell you something? ;) Pet me instead of spending time with the stamps.
ReplyDeleteYou found wonderful E animals today
