Thursday Postcard Hunt - Cities - North American
North American Cities are the theme this week for Thursday Postcard Hunt.
United States is represented by this postcard of Lake Merritt, Oakland, CA. This is a place from my childhood! It includes Children's Fairyland. When I was little there was a small zoo, and silhouette cutters. You don't see them around anymore, the small zoos or the silhouette cutters. I wrote a post about Fairyland postcards in August.
Mexico City, Mexico
The Caballito Roundabout, Reforma Ave. Rather an oblong roundabout. Do you have roundabouts? We have a handful around here. I don't like them. That could be because they are not a thing we are used to, so no one really knows how to drive in them properly. That includes me.

Montreal, Quebec, Canada from atop Mount Royal.
March is a new theme, Animals! Next week is Animals in the Wild. I am looking forward to March postcards. I love animals!
I don't think we have any roundabouts in our city, but some of the adjoining cities yes. *They are annoying, I agree.
ReplyDeleteMexico City view is great: look at that long road!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like roundabouts... you cannot drive in Spain at all! You find one every few metres!
ReplyDeleteNice to see different cities, and also a different view from Montreal.
I'm loving all the Montreal postcards today, it looks like a great place to visit when there isn't 2 feet of snow on the ground. Thanks for sharing your childhood memory. As for roundabouts, when I lived in the UK they were everywhere - every highway (motorway) intersection (junction) has one. There are some here and NOBODY knows how to drive on them. I try and follow the UK rules, but nobody cares :)
ReplyDelete...Lisa, your collection amazes me!
ReplyDeleteWe have one big roundabout, the Traffic Circle, down on PCH. It always makes me nervous, but it's not too bad if you remember to use signals. Although, I do avoid it if I can.
ReplyDeleteWe are getting more and more roundabouts here. I like them, but I agree it can be confusing. That Mexico City view is so interesting!
