  1. Wow, I never saw a stamp from Bhutan, and I never heard of a Dhole. I like all three stamps!

  2. I'd never heard of a dhole, that's a great stamp. Dragonflies are a favorite of mine

    1. I love finding them holding still enough to photograph! And to let me get close.

  3. I didn't know the name of the two first animals, either. Nice stamps.

  4. Dik Diks are so adorable. I must look up dholes. Cool that you have one from Bhutan.

    1. They are! Teeny tiny antelopes, just 1' or so high at the shoulders! 4lbs, lighter than a house cat! I have three stamps from Bhutan. This, a boxer dog, and one showing Gauguin's The White Horse that is sealed in a way to make it sort of textured like a painting.

  5. The dhole is new to me. Lovely detail on the dragonfly illustration. I like hawkers because they tend to roam (we don't have the stamp one)

  6. The dhole is new to me and fascinated me enough to look it up. Sadly, this wild dog of Asia is endangered, with less than 2500 left in the wild.

  7. And I thought those were a dog and deer.

    1. The dhole differs from dogs in a few ways. Dholes have fewer molars, more teats, there vocalizations are whistles. They aren't closely related to either wolves or African wild dogs. Dholes use their tales to signal for pack communication. During a hunt chase the lead dhole will flick its tail to cue the pack to split, turn, or flank!
Did-diks are tiny antelopes, which do look like deer.

  8. Is this Post about passion about collecting stamps or about the contents in the stamps.

    1. Both! The blog hop Sunday Stamps (https://seeitonapostcard.blogspot.com/) and Thursday Postcard Hunt (same host) are specific prompts, and I think we usually have our own collected items to post. I find it interesting to find out about the image on the stamp, or about the event it might depict, or the history of the country in cases it no longer exists. If you collect stamps and/or postcards it's an every Sunday for stamps, and every Thursday for postcard prompts. I'm sure the host would love it if you joined in! We are doing alphabetical stamps now, anything goes as far as topic. I just picked animals as a side thing for myself.
