This triptych (a single composition divided into three parts that are meant to be viewed together) etching, Freedom, is by Barbara Whipple (1921-1989).  It's number 15 of 35.  Her etchings are quite valuable.  I'm not so fond of this I wouldn't sell it, as I only paid $2.24 at Goodwill!  I don't know a lot, but I know to pick up numbered prints for cheap, just in case!

This information was on the back of the mat.   I've not seen one of these before, but learned that in several states there are laws requiring disclosure of edition size, medium, and master plate status of prints, also called a Certificate of Authenticity.  Art dealers can be fined for selling prints without this. Art dealers would refuse to buy a print without one too, as they would be unable to sell it.  I wonder if having it makes my Whipple more valuable?

On a different day at Goodwill I got this 4" carved wooden mask, probably from Bali.  This might be the sixth of these small souvenir masks I've thrifted.  They're from Bali, Africa, Jamaica, Guatemala, a few other places.  It was only 71¢.

I hadn't been to the Goowill Outlet/Bins in a while.  In fact, much of November was spent at home sick, and then I got my eye poked not long ago, so I haven't done much thrifting at all.  The Bins would have been a complete disappointment if I hadn't seen this large (27.5" square frame size) painting in the back area of the store where the big things are, like furniture and vacuums (speaking of which, my Dyson gave out and I found a nice Bissell for $5 there!  Newer than my Dyson and 100 times cheaper!).
Back to the point...
Unsigned watercolor.  I call it (because I have to call it something to add it to my computer file of artwork) River Bend.  However, it might not be a river, more like arms of a lake.  Another one hard to photograph as it's behind glass.  And, that glass meant I paid just 90¢ for it!

Next Tuesday my post will be a bit different.  It will still show thrifted items, but the main focus will be anwering two questions I had about antique Christmas postcards.
