ReplyDeleteAll that open land, and the cattle are grouped together :)
ReplyDeleteGreat black and white cards. That goat looks like an old man....
ReplyDeleteI wonder... Do you have any postcards with critters that are now extinct? (I know, a bit maudlin.)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great question! I researched it a bit, and there are. Passenger pigeon, thylacine (real photo postcard of the last one known, in captivity - I hold out hope they're hidden away in some corner of Tasmania), a type of extinct zebra (quagga), and I think the dodo one is a stuffed specimen. I can't find any currently for sale. There are some for "almost extinct" Grevy zebra. Maybe we should get the postcard before it's rare! If you like Tasmanian tigers, I enjoyed the book Carnivorous Nights a lot.
DeleteThese are great Lisa. I have to remember that you collect them when I hit the thrifts. I come across some every once in a while.
ReplyDeleteI have little success at Goodwill. I find a few in their Outlet bins. But, my St. Vincent de Paul always has them. Either new for 5 cents, or vintage/antique for 50 or 75 cents, sometimes $1 for the real photo ones. They just were donated 20,000 from the heir to a collector's estate!
