This postcard belonged to my father, who, in his youth, spent time in in that area. The next photo is not a postcard, but I can never show one without the other!

In the 1960s the falls dropped the Witches and became Fanny Falls, as you could slid down the rocks on your "fanny." I took this photo on a visit to Fanny Falls while at summer camp at Camp Augusta, on Lake Vera, Nevada County, CA, then a Camp Fire Girl camp. Not my area's, but my friend (the girl in the foreground) and I went to this one because it had horses! The falls has yet again been renamed, it's now Gypsy Falls.
With Buildings is next week's Scenery or Landscapes for Thursday Postcard Hunt.
(I've noticed that this theme is turning out to be RPPCs without trying. Now I'll need to try to see if I can keep it up!)
Day 13 of NaBloPoMo
...lovely vintage cards.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite postcards are RPPCs. Especially the person photograph ones. Mysteries though.
DeleteGreat B&W cards! I love the second one...
ReplyDeleteIt's an interesting one. Too bad we have no idea who it was, or why they took the photo. I wonder where he got all that firewood? The landscape doesn't lend itself to trees.
DeleteMy favourite would be the house :)
