Thursday Postcard Hunt - Illustrations: Food or Plants

Food or Plants is this week's Illustrated theme for Thursday Postcards.

A reproduction of a fruit crate label.  Great garage sale find (a set of five), as I collect crate labels!

A postcard my son brought me from Georgia, USA.
Savannah pecan pie recipes are usually different from this one.  This is pretty much just a common southern pecan pie recipe.  No problem with that, I love it, in small doses, pecan pie is super sweet!

Tony Packo's Cafe, Toledo Ohio
Famous for the Tony Packo Hot Dog since 1932.  It's also the world capital of autographed hotdog buns.  Really!  Burt Reynolds started the tradition of celebrity bun signing. The buns are now made of foam.  There is also an exhibit of MASH, the television show, memorabilia. Tony Packo's was mentioned six times in the series.  And what a great series that was!  Hilariously funny, and heartbreakingly sad both. The postcard looks a little bit like a photo, but it's a painting.

That's it for August.  September brings Learning as the theme.  The first week, next week, will be Legends/Children's Stories.

    1. Nice! I'd never heard of it, so it's nice to hear from someone who not only has, but liked it!

    1. It is, if a bit strange with the bears and bald eagle fighting over the pineapple can! And pineapple isn't even one of "The Fruits of California." Old packing labels are fun!
